I am working on a model 311 - round nose.
Can I replace the seals on the differential brake shafts without removing the side gear bearing carriers from the tractor?
In other words, just remove the brake housings, discs etc and use the sheet metal screw trick on the seals??
Also, how often do the plugs in the end of the side gear shafts leak? The shop manual talks about replacing those plugs in the event of leaks...

Plugs in shaft ends seldom leak...if they have held this long they will keep on holding unless you disturb them. Seals can be pulled without removing bearing holder.
