What year(s) was the 470 produced? Did it have COM as an option? Was live PTO standard or and option? and did they have the same HP as the 430? Thansk.

1970-1971-1972. No COM. No pto was standard. Choice of Standard pto or Independent pto was the option. Same Hp as the 430.

My dad has a 1972 570 diesel that rolled the hour meter over before a rebuild. It was used to mow, rake, bale, (about 200 acres), and feed hay, bush hog, blade, drill soybeans, (between 500 and 1,000 acres a year for about 15 years with a 10 foot drill), you can just about name it and it has done it. It has literally worn out two sets of 3 point hitch balls, the last set being more heavy duty than the factory ones. I mean the balls would not stay in the holes. When dad rebuilt the engine, he took the heads to a local shop and the guy said he didn't see how it was even running. It was the worst he'd ever seen. The only reason dad rebuilt it was because of an odd knock. It turned out to be a loose wrist pin. When we pulled it out, the pin actually fell out of the piston and rod both. It should have done a lot of damage but for some reason it just kept going. It has been back together for about 12 years now and runs like a sewing machine. Still a darn good tractor. I always thought it would be neat to build some 70 series style sheet metal and put on it.

From what I have to read, the 470 was made in 1970 only. No COM's in the 430 or 470. No COM's in the 570 but in 530's. Standard pto or independant pto was a option for the 470. Same power as the 430.

You are right in that the 570 was not offered with COM, but only in reference to ag tractors. Case made a few 570s with COM for the military as airport tugs.

I can't find the 470 listed in Brumbaugh and Stonehouse's book. I don't think, based on that, they built very many, if any.

they made 470 untill 1971 or 1972 the 470 was a 430 with different decals same as the 530-570 the reason they quit them was they could make that many more backhoes they replaced them with David Brown and hey Tom if we had got to the row of stuff we missed when you were here you would have seen a 1971 470 here yes they made them tom we also sold a hand full of them when we had the dealership
