Well I'm gettin ready to put new shoes on the old girl so I pressured washed it. Now the zerks in the rear end started to leak a honey colored liquid. I took the oil level plug out and drained out 4 gals. of stuff. Now I don't know of any oil colored like that so I assume it's water in the oil.But 4 gals. so far over level? Was going to replace all seals next, if oil in clutch housing is black or the same as engine, which was overhauled than I think I'll skip the seal between trannie anh clutch. Isnt this fun.

Tractor has been stored inside and hasn't leaked before. Just from brake and pulley seals but that appeared to be black. Well the fun shall begin.

I agree - water will make gear oil turn the color of coffee with milk in it. Tractor owners who also have boats are familar with this problem when you get water in the lower unit. If the tractor sat outside for many years and leaked from the top it would create the "overfill" problem. You might flush the transmission with kerosene then refill with new gear oil. I run 85W140 in my SC but the multi viscosity gear oil causes a little bit of weeping around the seals. You will get some leaking also by overfilling, leave a little room at the top for expansion.
