I was wondering how much my front bucket should lift. I have some concrete blocks (the ones 2'x2'x6') that I want to make a wall with. I would prefer to use the front bucket instead of the backhoe.

My pump screams after lifting a couple feet, but will not lift the rest of the way. I am unsure how much it should lift or if my pump needs a rebuild. Thanks

I cannot give you an exact number because my manuals are on loan to a friend who is rebuilding his 580CK right now. But I can tell you that a load of concrete block should not weigh any more than a load of wet dirt and our 580CK will lift a load of dirt right up into the dump truck without any problem.
The "screaming" may not be your pump but your pressure relief valve. Is the noise coming from the pump (front of the engine) or from the loader valve? Does the hoe lift a full bucket of dirt OK? If so, it's not your pump. Are you sure the filter is OK and oil level of full? The "screamimg" may be the pump being starved for oil.

full on fluids, filter is not that old.

I never use the machine for moving full loads of dirt. I mostly move docks around my yard.

I will get someone to help me listen for where the screams come from. It is tough with the engine reved up.

Thanks for the input.
