I founnd a SP12 combine that has a free engine in it. I beleive it was a 1951? Is there any value for these old combines? Thought someone posted something about getting a count on these a while back or if anyone is looking for parts for one let me know.

Post over on the combine forum for 1206SWMO; he's coordinating the SP12 registry. We have 28 so far shooting for 100 by early 2009.

Greg,
The combine is located in western SD. I was going to pull the engine out if I bought it. caseman-d

My dad bought a new 1951 SP-12. He ran it until he traded for a 800 in 1961. I"d sure love to have one, but they were a pain to operate. The engine is a DEI and will pop right into a DC. It would be nice to see someone rescue the old machine if it is not too far gone. There is a guy who posts on the "Combine & Harvesters" board "1206SWMO" who is collecting data on SP-12"s.

I do know the DE enginge had the same serial number as the combine. I have a DC-4 that has a stuck engine so this may be a good prospect for a engine for it. caseman-d
