Blow by in a David Brown 1210

I have a 1210 with around 5,000 hours that has developed a little blow by smoke from the valve cover tube. It does not seem to use a lot of oil though. I am not that familiar with David Browns but I have worked some old Case tractors hard for years with blow by smoke. Is the David Brown the same way or is it about ready for new rings?

JRT I own a 1210 and have found these motors very robust. If it is easy to start and doesnt use too much oil and does not feel under powered I would leave well enough alone. Do you have any photos of the old girl?? You could also try the DB club at www.dbtc.co.uk
