I have a case 6000 plow 3-16" trip spring mounted plow. I am using a ford 841 tractor with approximately 42-45 Hp. I am having promblems pulling the plow. Can I drop one of the bottoms? I would like to drop the front bottom because I have clearance issues when lifting the lift arms the front plow wants to drag on the ground once in a while? The furrow wheel is actually a tire mounted on the side of the plow. I know I can take off the plows no problem but will the plowing be correct in the field?

Unless that tractor weighs about 6,000#, you may even have trouble with 2-16's.

I know you would here (Green Bay, WI).

Yes...bottom,and furrow are used interchangeably.

We took the last bottom off our 3 bottom Case BER mounted plow. All that neded to be done was move the tail wheel.

Actually, you would remove the last "bottom" and then switch some of the hardware onto the second (now last) bottom. You need the landslide, and perhaps the 'FOOT" THAT RIDES THE BOTTOM OF THE FURROW. I don't know if your plow has any sort of depth control, but that may need to be moved also. Some plows just don't allow for the removal of one bottom at all, because of the way the frame is constructed. We do have a 2-3 bottom fully mounted CASE plow that did allow us to remove the third bottom just as I described. Use lots of PB Blaster on the nuts of the bolts.

You can NOT drop the front bottom off and expect the plow to function properly. You can remove the last furrow and still plow correctly.

When you refer to the last furrow are you refering to the last Plow?
