A friend and I are heading to Kansas Wed. turkey hunting but heard today that my spot had already been hit hard. If anyone out there has any suggetions we would appreciate it. We'll be in the center part of the state somewhere, just look for the 2 turkeys driving around with Wisconsin plates. Thanks.

Michael

Head to Kanopolis Lake in Ellsworth County. There is good government ground to hunt and a lot of turkey.

thanks triplow,

Just my luck that's a couple miles over the unit boundry from where I should be, wonder if my permit is good for both units (I'll check into that). My dad was hunting way south of there today and ran into a bull on some public land, I guess I better bring my running shoes along as well. Do you know if there many birds further north, maybe near lake Kirwin? I'll see what things look like and maybe stop by some farms, it'll give me a chance to look for old tractors also.

Michael

There are plenty of turkeys in Northern Jewell County. My Dad leases his land to the State for open walk in hunting. More birds shot means less milo they will eat.
