I USE 5W-30 OR 10W-30 YEAR AROUND. MY DAD AND I HAVE USED SAME BRAND FOR APPROX. 50 YEARS WITHOUT PROBLEMS.
I HAVE BEEN TOLD NOT TO USE 10W-40, SMALL ENGINE MANUALS SAY NOT TO BUT 5W-30 IS OK.
THE ONLY ENGINE I HAVE HAD SEIZE HAD ROTELLA IN IT. I AM USING CIH IN DIESEL NOW, DONT LIKE THE COST.

Well, should I use it or get some 10-40. I"ll use it if it ain"t gonna hurt the engine but it"s some good Quaker stuff so??

I just used it in my truck and had some bottles left over and thought I"d ask around.

5W-30 will be fine, but in the summer I usually switch to 10W-40. In case some out there don't understand multi weight oil here is an example of what it means. Let's take 5W-30 for example; when cold the oil acts like a 5W oil which helps in starting, when at operating temperature (200 F) the oil is 30W. This being said there is no reason to run a straight weight oil anymore, it just makes it harder to turn over.
