I'm going to start a petition to get Doug banned from this forum for such blastfamies. Once you spend 15 minutes on that 970, you'll have that 4020 with the buzz-buzz engine up for sale.

Having spent many hundreds of hours in a 970 I will say they are a good tractor but the 4020 beats it hands down in the handling, braking, steering and their hyd. system is better for orbit motors ect. For field work the 970 will pull a little better on less fuel but the headlands will be a little wider!

Since you have both tractors and the disc why are you asking us, take the darn things out in the field try each one and then report back to us as to which is best.
BOY I wonder if you are not trying to get some kind of argument going on here.
Walt

Sorry about that but there are people on the forum who just delight in starting fights over which tractor is best. It my opinion that the best tractor is the one you like the best. Walt

PS I'm a case man myself, particular reason just always liked them since my Uncle Walt had a 48 orchard model. Not sure which one.

I am sure the HP rating is very close but the Case will simply have more lugging torque. The 970 may wiegh more too.

Use the Case, sell the 4020 and buy about 6 more Cases with your money, you will be happier. Your 970 will make a 4020 hide in the grass ! you know that is why they are green ! I own a 4020 and they are a good tractor but way overated when it comes to doing heavy work.
