After about 3 months setting in one spot, I have little oil puddles under each axle. Case tells me the rear axle shaft oil seals are no longer available. Part # 06004AB. Before I spend time asking and looking elsewhere, can anyone tell me if these seals will always seep a little anyway or can I get them to dry up with new seals before I do my new paint job? It looks like a big job pulling weights and tires off this pig.

Does the engine use oil? Just a thought I had when I read your post. On my 600 the seals on the transmission input shaft and the pto shaft inside it were shot and it allowed motor oil from the clutch back into the trans. This caused the trans to be overfull with the thinner motor oil making all the leaks worse. All of the seals and gaskets on the transmission except for the axle seals were replaced before it was painted, The axle seals hardly seep at all. We removed the axle housings, axles and wheels as a unit to avoid removing the wheels from the axles.

The first character in that p/n is the letter O not the digit 0. That causes a faulty search and an automatic "no longer available" for some dealers.

P/n O6004AB was not superceeded prior to 7/89, may have been since, that is the latest substitute part nr manual I have. It may be obsolete for Case but a suitable substitute will likely be available from some seal mfr

P/n doesn't cross to CR either, probably have to pull one and look for a mfr nr or ID by size.

If you go to trouble of removing wheel check that bearing is not loose an allowing axle to be off center an causing seal to leak.

When you pull the seal retainer off (I'm assuming there is a removable seal retainer), check the axle surface where the seal makes contact to see if it's grooved. If so, you may need to either drive the seal into the retainer far enough past the old point of contact to prevent it from leaking, or if that's not possible, you may need to get speedy sleeves to go over the contact area. Not cheap, but it will keep you from leaking oil all over the new paint job.

As DCTom says, they are still available...Casenever did make seals...they will be C.R. or some other brand. You can likely get the number off the old seal or take the specs to any bearing supply store.
