I have a chance to buy a couple of kinda dead 1370's. The machines are 100's of miles away,3000 hour govt surplus. One has hoist problems and a bad injector pump. The other has the pto shaft twisted off. what are they worth as is and cleaned up and repaired? are they reliable tractors to keep or should I just stay away?

Dad bought a well used 1370 two years ago at an auction for 2200. It runs out well and we have had no problems we just use it for lighter work like on the baler, feed wagon, and manure spreader. If you could get them both for 5000 and make one good one out of the two you would come out all right and have spare parts to boot. Check oil drain plug if there is any anti feeze in oil pan, if that checks out the engines usually hold together, put in new anti freeze to prevent sleeve corrosion, change rear end oil if rest checks out and just use them, my .02, take care.also that engine i think was used in some case payloaders, so the engine alone would be worth salvage price.

I got our 1570 two years ago for $2000
in N.E. Arkansas. We have replaced the radiator, ignition circuit breaker, battery
and repaired a few hydraulic leaks and changed all the fluids and filters. It has never failed
to work for us in that time.
