WHAT ENGINE DID CASE PUT IN 420 IND SOMEONE TOLD ME IT WAS A 6 CYL (help ???? )

The 420 used the 251 gas or diesel engine. Later diesels were 267 Cu. In. all 4 cylinder. The 520 used the 377 6 cylinder diesel... Gene

I have a 400 ind----ie 420 with a 4 speed shuttle and 251 gas----it is a real neat variation of the racine 400---about 200 or so made---have mine all restored and it is a NICE addition to a 400 collection.neale

what farm tractor engine would replace this engine in the 420 case IND WE HAVE A VERY BIG HOLE IN THE SIDE OF OURS DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO THANKS

Engine from a Racine 400 or 700 will work. 800,730 or 830 will also fit if straight 8 speed. Is it gas or diesel?... Gene
