We are trying to find out what year and model # that our case tractor is. We believe it may be a 1945? SC? It was apparently set up to burn either kerosene or gasoline. There isn't a data plate on the dash, but the frame has 5650A cast on the frame and the block has 5618A in the casting. The exhaust/intake manifold has #5623A cast into it. We need to rebuild the carb and the only identification that we can find is "Zenith -Made in USA" cast into the carb.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks.
Dennis

Since the ID tag is missing, you need to check the rear engine flange on the left side of the tractor. Case stamped the serial number and model there as well. Once you do this, if you take 4 from the first two numbers of the seven digit serial, you will know what year it is.

First, try going through the photo archives on this site, and see if you can find a picture of a tractor that matches yours. That can help you figure out what model it is.

As for its age, try looking on the flange where the engine and transmission bolt together, on the driver's left side. There should be a serial number stamped there on the edge. More than likely, you will find a seven digit serial number. Take the first two digits, and subtract 4. That will give you the year.
