I posted a while back about the price of a 1967 CK. Thanks for the replies-I bought it!

Tractor's solenoid was shot. Parts houses in town said no solenoid was avaliable-buy rebuilt starter with solenoid. Guess what? a friend came by and said solenoid looked just like a GM. We took one off his junk starter from a GM diesel engine and it worked perfectly!!

Couple of questions:

As advertised tractor will not move once it warms up-read one post re changing fluid out with 30 weight motor oil. I know we used to do this in the old days on auto transmissions with some success. Will it work on the Case or will it do damage?

I need service manual-choices are reproductions, originals and CDs what is the recommendation?? CDs are pretty cheap.

Where can I get an owners manual for this critter??

Cheers, John in Wyo

John congrats on your purchase! heaver oil may not hurt any hurt any thing but if you want to use this unit at all go ahead and fix it right if it wont move when its warm I would guess the FWD-RVRS clutch pacs are worn out you can check this by putting unit in fourth gear and see if it will moveif it wont pull itself in this gear its safe to say you need a tear down dont worry its not that bad to work on as for manuals CASE is the best to explain what you need to do 580CK op's are available if the plain CK servise manual is not get the 580B as this is the same power train as the CK dont know where in wyo you are if your close to me I can be talked in to loan you mine for the rebuld if you wish as servise manuals are around the 100.00 or better mark now, as for CD"s parts is still avaiable I think but I have never seen servise in these but you can sure check with a dealer on this if I can help further e-mail me can give you my # if you like am in Gillette best luck Tom
