Have some steering problems. Works okay on the run but while backing or in tight places S wheel turns but front wheels have a hard time following. Impossible to back an emplement with it. Heard that problem might lie in the recir ball steering mech. Where is this recirculating ball steering mechanism located on a 1200 DB? About how hard is it to replace? and About what will on cost?

If you have power assist steering, then there is a possibility the recirculating ball nut is bad. If you have hydrosatic power steering the hand pump at the bottom of the column could bad or a piston seal in the cylinder is bad.

Just the man I wanted to hear from. I had the clylinders rebuilt last year. I have a pump at the front of the motor with a seperate reservor above it. there is also a box at the base of the column. It's a 1971 model. How can I tell the difference in a power assist and a hydrostatic? Its a good old tractor that was made put together with another. The body was DB grey not case orange as some of the later 1210' s were.
