I am looking at buying a Case 1390 diesel 4WD.

Any comments? Good points? Bad points?

I understand that Elmer may be the guru. Elmer, are you out there?

Decent enough tractor. If you put a loader on and depends on the lift cylinder size you may want to beef up the front axle. The hydraulic capacity can break the axle at the trunion pin. We used to add a "C" channel under the axle to strengthen it. I put a 1200 axle under my 990. My loader will lift 3000 pounds. 1390 has the same axle as a 990.

Elmer,

Do I understand correctly that this tractor has only one hydraulic outlet? If so, does this mean that it is not possible to put on a loader with both hydraulic lift and hydraulic positioning of the bucket?

Elmer.

Thanks for the reply and the advice on the front axle. Do you have any idea what the loader lift limit might be with the production axle?

I understand you might be the guru of this vintage of Case tractor, so I would appreciate your comments.

Ron
