Would tappet clicking be heard on both side of the block? took the valve cover off and 2 of the rods had extra clearence.

It seams to go away when under a load so I've always been tought that if it was a bearing, ect., that it would get louder.

How is the oil pressure? I would check the rods to make sure a bearing isn"t bad. It only takes a few minutes to drop the oil pan.

No, my questions is can it be heard on both sides of the block. I just am trying to make sure thats possible and if not that there maybe somthin else wrong.

i guess is should have added that there is a noise that can be heard on both sides (not really loud so don't thinks its somthing major, might be though) and the rocker arms are not making noise so i would presume that the noise is from the tappets hitting the cam. If this is the case, would it be wise to fix it or leave it alone.
