Hey all, my mom died today. 70 years old, just shy of her 50th anniversary with my dad. The heart couldn't handle the surgery. At 42 years old, I've never felt so bad in my life. She was one tough cookie as a mother, strict as they come. She raised 4 boys, on 5 acres, and taught them to appreciate the fruits of hard work. She collected eggs from the hens and gave them to family and friends, never accepting a dime for them. She would buy old radios for my dad to repair, because she knew that was his passion. She loved all 4 daughters in law as if they were blood. She would stop what ever she and my dad were doing, and start a fresh pot of coffee, so they could sit and talk with whoever stopped by. In the kitchen. She always made sure that guests had cookies with their coffee. Folks, my mom was the perfect mother as far as they go; strict when she needed to be, and easy and loving all the rest of the time. She was the mom we all think this world needs nowadays, but this world can't handle. God, I miss her. Sorry about this, i just don't have a lot of people to talk to. Thanks, Kurt

Maybe you won't read this, it's a little late. Lost my mom to cancer a few years back, just weeks before our first was born, she passed on mother's day 2001. You never forget, but what they taught will guide us forever. One thing that helped me, was Don't dwell on the fact that they have passed, just be thankful you were able to have as much time together as you did. Life's not easy, but we'll help you through it. Maybe name your favorite Case after her, and you can remember the good times whenever you fire it up. My 2 cents. Joe.

Kurt,
It is hard to loss someone that loves you. I was there when my dad passed away. My dad loved to walk in the woods. I started to talk to him an told him this. Dad we are going to walk back to the woods. We are on the lane, now we are crossing the creek. Now we are to the woods as we walk in the woods I said Dad there is the bright light coming through the trees. Dad this is as far as I can go with you. And
Your story of your mother you with never forget. God now has her helping him. Your case friends will always be there for you or anyone. Again I am very sorry for your lose, may God be with you always.
Jerry

Kurt;

My condolences for your loss.

I lost my mother 15 years ago and my father 20 years before that.

On the night after Mom's funeral, while on the way home, I viewed the most spectacular display of Northern Lights I had ever seen. My thoughts were that Mom and Dad had gotten back together again and she was telling all what a wonderful afterlife they had.

My mother raised 17 children on a small farm and was truly an angel on earth and now god has her patience and experience... Gene

I am so sorry for your loss. I think no matter what, you can never be truely ready for the loss of parent or child. My mother is 66 and still soldiering along working two jobs, but my father(and best friend) died at 45,three days after my 20th birthday. My brother has already lived longer than my father. I know none of this can soften your loss, but know that there are people out here that have never, and probably will never meet you, wish you never had to feel that pain. Our thoughts are with you.

Man, I feel so sad for you. Not a day goes by that I don't think about my dad and all the time I spent riding with him on the tractor while he was plowing. He passed away in 2003 on his mothers birthday. Somehow I think he knew what day it was and he was going home to see her. He had surgery also but never recovered from it. Just hung on in that hospital bed, mostly unresponsive toward the end, for the better part of seven months. No way would I have lasted that long. I will think about you often in the coming days. You have lots of friends in the "tractor family."

Boy I'm sorry about your loss, my mother passed away in 1982 at age 72.
But I'm 68 now and with a bum ticker and all you guys are making me take a good long look at things. My wife is 82 and doing better than I am. All this talk is hard on us old guys you know that.
Anyway I hope that you will always remember your Mom and be sure to tell your kids and grandkids all about her so that they will know who she was and can pass that info on to their children. I like to tell about my grandparents as I grew up with them. Never forget and never let your kids forget where they came from, it will keep them alive a lot longer and you will feel better for it.
My wife thinks that my family is crazy because we go to the funeral then go to a closest relatives house and have a big celebration talking about the person who has just passed on. It really helps to get over the loss. Walt

Case DI, I want to encourage you! I'm an orphan and I take care of 3500 of them. It isn't how long you live it's what you leave behind. Your mom left at least one good son. Thanks for your heartfelt memorial! I know you are grieving but what more could a mother do? You have much to be thankful for, you couldn't have had a better upbringing. May God bless you during your time of loss!

Sorry about your Mom. She was a young lady at 70. We lost my Mom a year ago next week at 99, and not a day goes by that I don't think about her. Hang in there and keep those memories of her close.

Kurt,
I am sorry to hear of your loss. Your Mom did well by you. It sounds as though the lessons taught were lessons well learned by her children and that is a rare enough thing these days. Take a few days to grieve properly and then remember to thank God that you were blessed with her guiding hand for 42 years. Many people aren't that fortunate. Don

Sorry for your loss. My mother passed last November at age 80. I am just now getting somewhat back to normal. Sounds like your mother was one great woman. I'll bet your mom is in heaven serving up one great cup of coffee.

CaseDI, I am sorry to hear of your loss. I lost my dad 7 years ago next week. He was a very simple man that loved life. I miss him, but I still smile every time I think of him. You grief will pass and the memories will keep you going. You will be driving or do something and a memory will come and you will smile to. She's not gone, she is still with you, just in a better place where she can watch over the whole family.

Take Care,

Dave
