I looked for a serial number but there isn't one anywhere. The number cast into the block is A34932. What is strange is that number is usually entirely cast into the block but on mine A349 is cast and the 32 is then stamped in. Also the tractor has various numbers stamped into it in different places such as SN 0, 100564, and E5430045 on the block and transmition. I've never seen this before. My dash looks identical to my other 1961 830. I found a site that has one just like mine that is a 1964. Check it out and tell me what you think. Eventualy we'll find out what it is...Thanks!!!

Hi 530puller: I just got back from Racine....i talked with a guy that has just acquired an "830" LP High Crop Comfort King with Dual Range. It does have the squared fenders and dash layout like the reg. Comfort Kings and the fuel tank is almost as long as the whole hood. You get on in front...it has three steps ....the bottom one is supposed to fold up when you get on. It sounds like yours would be older than than the 1965 models.

I e mailed Rich Tworek at Racine factory and gave him the serial number to the 830 LP on that site and he said that his production records are wrong and they did make a Case 830 LP hi crop in 1964.

iluvcase, I am not going to Racine next week. I agree that it could be a newer model because I looked again today at the governer housing where the ser. tag should be, and it does have 2 drilled and threaded holes where the tag would have been mounted. But, the fact that mine doesn't have power steering makes me think it could be older. Was power steering an option? Thanks!

I do not have any sales literature for the "Comfort King" 7-830's. I think you should look for the sales lit. and then see if they show a H.C. model. At least then you might be able to tell a little more...if they truly look like the "Comfort Kings" or their older style cousins. Without a serial # it really makes it difficult unless you can glean something from a photo or you can find a particular # that was used on specific years. What makes it doublely hard is that you're dealing with a very low volume of tractors to start with especially with the LP gas and the "Case-o-matic Drive" trans.

A34932 is one of the block #'s that they used in my parts book....buy that does'nt mean that they did'nt also use these #'s on the later models. Your tractor does have an old look to it but that might not mean a whole lot. We will keep looking for more info and see if we can find out anymore about this tractor. Are you by any chance coming to Racine next weekend for our convention?
