Okay after only 3 years of thinking about it I finally got around to pulling apart my 54 SC-4 to find out what is with the massive skip. Pulled the head and number 2 piston has a big crack in it. Is Camboted making new sleeves/pistons for the 3 5/8 sc's? Or should I give Don Livingston a call?

If the piston is cracked from the pin to the top make shure you take all them out and replace the wrist pin bushing Because there loose and caused the piston to wobble and break the piston! I would hone the walls and replace the rings wile it was torn down this far!

If your tractor has cast iron pistons, I saved three of them from my '54. Let me know if you have this type and want one.

I"d give Don L. a call. He"s one heck of a good guy to do business with and I"m sure he would have what you need.

Better check your serial number! The last of the S-series had the oring on the sleeve not in the block, and I dont think anybody is making sets for them. If the sleeve is ok , why not look for a used piston.
