1370 sat all winter, so today I thought I would start it & let it run a while, I looked in radiator, saw anti freeze, checked the oil, ok there, started it up, it was blowing some moisture out the exhaust then I happened to look at the radiator cap & green was puking out the cap rapidly, at first I thought I didnt get the cap back on right, not the problem but it shouldnt puke that fast after starting anyway unless there is a problem inside, now I have to find out what that problem is before spring work starts. This engine was running flawless last fall, that's what is puzzling !!!

Some engines cracked the sleeve flange caused by uneven counterbore. Hard to see the crack. Case offers flange sleeves shims in .005 and .010 thickness. Some old Case dealers had the Porta-tool counterbore tool to reclaim the upper counterbore.

I would think that the most likely cause is a bad head gasket causing compression to escape into the rad, You might be lucky enough to stop it by retorquing, but I think I would replace head gaskets before spring work starts. It is a lot nicer fixing now than right in the middle of spring planting. Good luck.

Dont know if this is your problem or not. Had almost the same thing on two separate 830s I had. The head was loose on one, so I over torqued by 15ftlbs. The other had a bed head gasket. These are 301 motors. Same as the 451, but only 4cyl instead of 6cyl. Funny, but both ran all day after they warmed up, and we poured the anti freeze back in. But the next morning, they would blow it all out again.
