Hi guys. I have a stupid question for you. I have an excellent, I mean excellent, there is not a better one out there with 3300 original hours, original gauges work, 10.00-16 at 90% on the front and 18-4 x 38 loded on reer at 85%. It has open station and needs nothing. Paint was done several years ago and looks great. We have our own tractors and do not really use it. This was his favorite tractor. I have all the factory manuals for it. All fluids are ready and needs nothing. However, I can"t even get a decent price for it. I have been told that $9500 was fair for it. Am I dreaming? Am I out of line? We just wanted it to have a good farm to go to for him. Help!? I have pictures I will post. Like your opinions. I have it on ebay now but I think I wasted my time. DAVE

Thanks so very much for the reality check. I had no idea and I was guided to high as well. I asked around and it sounded good since I know the tractor well. If Dad knew, he would be fit to be tied since the tractors were 31 K new. The serial is #8779021 on the tractor. Sorry I left it off. I do have a couple of pictures for fun and thanks again for the help. I will try to find a new home for it for the lower price than I was told.

A bit too high on the price. We bought a real nice early 2390 for only $6400. Everything works now, needed a little attention to some small things. With a cab you couldn't get that out of it. May be able to sell it if the price was closer to $6000. Those are great tractors but getting real old.

AGE, thats a lot. i had a 1982 2290 with less than 1900 original hours on it. couldn't sell it, ended up trading it. i think the age hurt resale, its a shame. you didn't say what year the 1370 is, built years 1972-1978 sorry to say its getting some age on it.

From what I haer they are not the best of tractors, but I've not been around them so I can't confirm that. I do know a local farmer put $6,000 into rebuilding his 870. Sounds like yours is well maintained though....

As my uncle used to say, "Your a good kid, but who likes kids?" You may have a good tractor, but its good for what? Open station may be ok down south, but up here in the North country, thats a lot of horsepower to not have a cab. It's too big for a chore tractor. Too small to pull air seeders or corn planters of today. Nobody wants to pull a sprayer without a cab. It would be an ok loader tractor, but like I said, in fair weather.
Gets cold out there pushing snow without heat and too hot out there putting up hay in the summer humidity without air. Too dirty to use for a grain cart tractor following combines around. Also, power shift transissions can be expens$$$$$$$$ive if you buy the wrong used tractor. Sometimes more than what you paid for the tractor if things are really bad. It puts the hurt on resale. Not just Case, but most brands of tractors of the early power shift technologies. I don't know of anyone who buys an IH without planning to do a TA overhaul after he gets it home.

$9500 does seem somewhat high. 12s and 13s won't bring what a 1175 or smaller will because of the single pto and being a little more clumsy. All done up like it is $7500 might be more in line but it'll take a Case guy to buy it. Its sad they don't bring more but that seems to be the market.
