What is the speed of a 51 case DC in first gear. I believe it to be around 2.1 mph. I would like 1.7mph with full throttle (any one have a way to modify?) . Have an old pull grape harvester that I would like to use with the DC. It needs about 49 pto power. I am planning to put in new 4 1/6 sleeves and dome pistons to get the power in that range.

You are right about the speed for a DC with 38" rear rims and 13.6 tires. The easiest way to slow her down would be to change your rear wheels, you could go to a set of D axels and wheels with the DC sprockets, that would allow you to boost the rpms slightly and still reduce ground speed. Get a set of 14.9 or even 18.4-26" tires.

Thanks for the info. Is there any way of changing the sprockets with out changing to the D's axles?
