The PTO on my 400 (Racine) won't stop turning. I have a parts book, but the numbers are hard to read. Re-print?? Anyway, is it the group of plates causing the problem?? I think there are seven in the picture, and it says to use one more?? Does anyone have the correct part numbers? Thanks in advance. Rob

had the same problem. I put pto and linkage from an 830 in. It works great!

I was not aware that it did not have a brake. Yes, when you hook an implement to it, it stops. I will adjust as best I can. Thanks for the info. Rob

Rob,

To clarify, the 400 did not have a brake, the later 400 Super did. If yours is a 400, it will rotate all the time from drag even if it"s correctly adjusted.

super 400 had a brake, check for warped disks, not that the non- brake design was a good one to start with!

Rob,

The 400 didn't have a brake on the PTO, so unless you have an implement hooked up, drag will have it turning all the time.

If the problem is more than that, in other words, if it won't stop turning an implement, then I'd start by checking the adjustment.
