Poor hood-grille fit on VA's ???

I've noticed on almost all VA's that I see (whether they are original or even nicely restored tractors) that the fit or match between the hood and the rear part of the grille never seems to line up properly. I wonder why this is and why people that have obviously put in a lot of time and effort on tinwork and paint can't seem to get things lined up properly. I don't have a VA myself so I really have never looked too closely at the bolt-up method of those parts attatching (other than I know they are two separate parts).

These were farm tractors, Case was not looking for show car quality. If you want to keep it correct, the panels will not fit correctly. It's hard to leave when you spend so much time getting the paint right.Sometimes i spread the back of the grill, other times i need to pull it in.When i finish the panels line up good.

Interesting however I have a Case history book here with a ton of factory photos of assembly lines, storage yards, shipping on trailers and trains, and all the hoods/grilles seem lined up on those. Whatever the reason, it does seem strange that they all went that way.
