within the last week, when it was cold out, the part of the pto cable that hooks into the lever decided to break. called the local case dealer today they want $140 for a new cable! i can't believe it! for a 4 ft piece of cable with threded rod on the end. i almost thought about cobbling it back together. now to engage and disengage the pto i got a vice- grip stuck on there until they get the part in and i can fix it. PS i use this tractor on the manure spreader and need it every day. just my thoughts and complaints DF

Dairy Farmer,
No matter where you get the cable make sure the pivot at the top is free, my brother has a 1070 and the first time the cable broke he did not know to check the pivot, that cable broke just as the first one. He ask a case dealer who told him if the pivot is stuck it will break the threaded part of the cable. Just my experience. May God Bless you.

Control cables can be custom made\ordered at various parts and truck equip stores. Had one made for a Versatile last year for $75 rather than OEM cost of over $250.
