checking the fluid in the wheel hubs, pulled the plug on the outside and a gush of air rushed out. normal?

thanks for the comments. Tom it sounds liked u have experience with these machines. our normal running temp is 220 F, and the little holes on the injector side of the engine show slight oil residue? first case 4x4 we had so don't know much.

We tell the farmers to run the tractor and get the hubs up to normal temp and then loosen the plugs out in the field and let the air out. Then when they cool off, they will be under a slight vacuum. Better to have a slight vacuum than to have pressure built up all day in the field.

The same thing happens on my 2470"s. The warmer the hubs, the greater the pressure. The good news is the seals are in good shape.
