Hi, I have a VA with the belly style lift.
Does anyone know what the return spring capacity might be? I was thinking of 'fashioning' a 3PT
hitch and using that system as the lift power.
Or better still, does anyone know where I could get the 3PT adapter kit which I heard was commercially made for this purpose?

MJ, I LOVE your gin-pole crane! That is so cool. I've got to build something like that for Katy! What are you using for the winch? Electric?

I don't know the spring rate but it's pretty stout! Anything strong enough to return the cylinder and linkage will do. I've had to weld the ends back on mine several times over the years but I'm always looking for a modern replacement. Go to the link for more info; image 22 shows another rock-shaft assembly built from stock pillow block bearings though bearings aren't needed. I like the set-
up shown pretty well and it works good for me.

One thing you'll notice on the webpage (Image # 13) is that the spring is not on the tractor. It was broken and waiting to be fixed when I took the photo. :-)
