Anyone else wonder why J.I. Case wasn't mentioned in the survey? Maybe we fall under the "Other/Orphan brands" Catagory.
I think all the A/C boys voted twice.

What brand of tractor was used by your family when you were growing up?

1. Allis Chalmers (247 votes, 74%) 2. Ford (20 votes, 6%) 3. International / Farmall (11 votes, 3%) 4. John Deere (45 votes, 13%) 5. Massey Harris (0%) 6. Minneapolis Moline (0%) 7. Oliver (5 votes, 1%) 8. Other / Orphan Brands (0%)

I think I figured out the survey criteria. These are all reader input surveys and a biased by the submitter. I would guess that where ever this submitter grew up there was no or not a strong Case dealeship. Tractor owners usually gravitate to the most service minded dealer/service point. Ours happened to be Reinhardt Wolfe Case in La Grange, TX. He had the market basically sown up in this area and Case was the dominant brand (not so anymore as the individuals that bought the dealership from him on his retirement killed it).

I believe that YT management should review these submitted ideas for obvious ommisions based on individual bias and edit or revise them to reflect mainstream USA in the 40s and 50s. If one of our younger generation citizens would have submitted the survey idea the choices would obviously included, Kubota and Mahidra!!

I went to the survey and tried to vote. It looks to me like all votes are going to Allis because it does not give you a button to click on to vote for any of them!

Their has got to be something goofy with those surveys. I just scrolled down through all of the surveys and several stand out as somethings got to be wrong.

Like this one

How do you cut your hay or grass?

1. Sickle Bar Mowers (50 votes, 16%)
2. Spinning Disc Mowers (75 votes, 24%)
3. Rotating Drum Mowers (4 votes, 1%)
4. Sickle Bar Haybine (52 votes, 16%)
5. Spinning Disc Haybine (8 votes, 2%)
6. Rotating Drum Haybine (no votes, 0%)
7. Rotary Bush Hog Type (12 votes, 3%)
8. Hand Held Scythe (107 votes, 34%) OK, it must be all the A/C Guys still cutting their hay with a HAND SCYTHE... WHAT????

And the one about what fuel most guys use in their tractors.

The choices are:
Diesel 106 votes
Gas 160 votes
Propane 6 votes
Kerosene no votes
Other 218 votes

OTHER????? What other fuel options are there on a tractor????? Like Nuclear? "Yeah, got to run down to the quick-snack and get some plutonium for the old 8-N"

I guess maybe wood or coal for the steam guys, or wait a minute, would it be the water that's the fuel?
