i go to bonanzaville every tuesday night for spud vally model rr meatings, and i drive by him. unfortuneatly ol'abe at bonanzaville is in really tough shape. i beleve the left sholder but for shure one is rusted out, and it needs paint. paint is the least of my worries with this monument. atleast it is here and not gotten cutup like most of the dealer eagles.

Hello Stephan, yes I thought the Eagle looked a little tough the last time I saw it,its to bad that if Bonanzaville is not going to take care of it that they "donate" it to Rollag,I bet they would be happy to have it and it would be fitting there also, and would be taken care of too.But those are my thoughts

the people that you should talk to is jim and linette briden at larson welding in fargo. it would look nice next to the HQ ol abe that we have. and or you can talk to them and or bonanzaville about repairs to him. it is souch a shame to se him in the shape that he is in. stephan

I clicked on the link, but I'M confused. Is Old Abe still on display @ a Case Branch? I clicked on the other link & read the history Of Case & IH. Interesting. It said Case recently sold Viscosity Oil to Pennzoil. I remember a meeting soon after the merger. The Case boys said Viscosity Co., which Case now owned, produced the finest lubricants available anywhere, & we should be using Case IH lubes in our machinery. Case had acquired Viscosity w/ the merger. I wonder who produces Case lubes today??

Hello John, actually Old Abe is sitting on a stand by herself,(if you go to the link on Bonanzaville and look unders the Buildings link scroll down it will show her, she was taken off the Branch when Case I think donated the building to the city at Bonanzaville this is a place that has old buildings and antique equipment, they have shows there and is quite impressive.

Yes, I agree with you on Viscosity Oil,very good product. But Case spun this off in the 90's I think,I could be corrected on this John,I still think Viscosity sells Case their products, but not sure

Sorry for goofing up the previous post!

I thought it was GREAT that they saved the building some years back!

Third Party Image

AFAIK, the Case Eagle from the building is now at Bonanzaville, but it does not seem to be mentioned on their site.

I live in ND, and am VERY interested in our history, and the history of farming in ND, and collect old ND town view postcards.

I have never worked in Fargo, but have spent a LOT of time there, and have always admired that old building.
