My family have and are still actively using out SC Case. Its more of a yard tractor now. Right now its down. The problem, the magneto, its always been a torn in our side, people that worked on them around here are heading for he big shop in the sky, No one will claim any expertise on them anymore. I want to convert it to a points ignition. and at that point convert it to electronic ignition. Ive heard of distributors that bolt into the same mounts that the mag did. is this right? any clues where to find one of these? I know some of you love the magnetos, but I have no trouble working on the points ignition, so I just want something I can work on when its needed. its already been converted to +12 volts. thanks Mike

I used a distrubitor of a Farmall and it was the best thing i ever done to a SC! It made a smooth running more powerful tractor out of it! You can also use a Delco Dist off a Allis wd Etc

Great. any Ideas where to find one? are they hard or easy to find? is this one of those 90 degree distributors? or does it just stick horizontally out the back of the old magneto mount?
did you do the electronic ignition also? would you recommend it? I would like to make this tractor as reliable as possible. we depend on it to run our standby generator for the house, and it does all the snow blowing.

There are at least 7 up for auction on Ebay right now under the "Farmall" listing alone.
