Bought tractor with Pto clutches out. Replaced all clutches, steels and rings. I put it back together pto works fine but will not shut off. I have played with the linkage still same problem. Wondering could it be the valve on the side? You can kill the tractor and loosen the pressure line to the pto clutches and start the tractor back up and the pto does not turn. When you turn the pto on it will not shut off unless you repeat the process and loosen the line.(bleed off the pressure)

the hyd. line going to the clutch pack on the side of the case, coimg from the pto spool valve, 1 shut the tractor off. 2 disconnect the line. 3 turn on the tractor, if the pto is still spinning with the pto lever in the off postian you have a interanl problem, if you replace the clutch disks and nothing else it is probly the pto brake or o-rings on the pto clutch pistion, or you have a interanl leak going to your pto clutch pack, or in the clutch pack itself.
any question e-mail me, i got time to talk

Tee a pressure gauge into the line that goes back to the PTO clutch, and you will find out if the problem is in the hydraulic valve, or if it is in the clutch.

Darrel, did you finally get some snow up there? Nothing but light rain here.

Yep! White Christmas. One inch snow + one inch ice about the 21st. Nice for the last week, but not nice enough to melt the ice. Friday night 4 inches of snow. Saturday 1 1/2" rain to soak up the snow really good. Last night a little more snow over the top. Starting to get a little concerned about the roofs! LOTS of weight up there. I hear things are white down in the banana belt too. DK
