You have my attention... What is your target audience? I have actually seen a rental company offering a Ford 8N for rent. These early utility tractors (Including Ferguson TO20, TO30, TO35) usually don't have live PTO, hydraulics, or power steering, but can be equally unhandy at many tasks. The big selling feature is that they are relatively inexpensive ($3000ish for a decent one), they look like a modern tractor, and most people don't realize how impractical they actually are. A Massey Ferguson 135, is a nice small, tractor with more modern options, but expect to pay more, $5-$6k. For a suburban do-it-yourselfer there is probably no advantage to renting a vintage tractor. I would probably look into a getting a handful of those cheap import compact tractors that seem to be popping up. Something like that can be gotten with a loader, backhoe, 2pt, live power, 4wd, and diesel powered for around $15k. While this is substantially more expensive than vintage tractor, the new ones will be much more versatile and easier to operate. There are safety concerns too. Novice operators are not always the safest and this is a sue-happy society. New tractors come with seatbelts, roll bars, guards for every conceivable pinch point, and safety interlocks to prevent people from injuring themselves. Sounds like a neat idea, good luck.
