Case 430 Remote Valves

My 430 has 2 valves and 2 levers, but the RH valve in the stack has plugs that appear to be factory. They use what appears to be a 5/16" square drive, are made of aluminum? and have resisted any attempt at removal. The valve with LH outlets feeds the remote on which both the hoses are rotting. Very hesitant to try removing the hoses as the connectin to the valve looks to be a non-standard thread.

Questions 1. Any advice on removing the plugs?
2. Assuming that I have to pull the remote stack off and drill out the plugs, can I put a blockout plate in place temporarily?
3. I assume there are gaskets between the blocks. Can these be purchased, and if not, what do you recommend they be made of?
4. Do the bolts go all the way thru the stack?

Thanks for the help.

I just went through this last week. I removed the plugs by grinding down the end of a bolt square and used an impact gun. Came out easily. There are gaskets between the blocks that can be ordered from Case (P/N A35617). The bolts go all the way through the stack (5/16" x 5 1/4").

If yours are like the ones I have, then the plugs should be 3/8 pipe. There are four 3/8 bolts holding the block (that have the plugs) onto the control valve. There is a gasket (G10930) in between these two parts. You can make a plate to cover the control valve if you need.

So it looks like I can either pull the block off the side of th valve or pull the whole valve. I think I'll go at the plugs wit hthe impact, then pull the block if that doesn't work, and pull the vlave as the last resort (as that seems to be OK).

Many thanks!
