I measured my Case 700 axle diameter to be 3 inches exactly. Is this correct? I was thinking they were smaller. Are 400, 700, 800, 730, and 830 all the same?

Lamont, If I remember a DC had a 2 7/8 and the 400 to 830 had a 3", optional long axles were usually bigger in diameter, I will try to get time to do a little checking.

The diameter is 3 1/8" on the 700. Yes, the size is the same through the early 930's... Gene

Lamont, I was once going to use the 830 hubs on my DC and I know they were 1/8" smaller and a DC is 2 7/8. also 700 wheels ect. will fit an 830. go with 9-bolt, if you buy some other rims or try out a friends wheels they will bolt on, I adapted the 6 bolt on my CC to 9bolt.

Just measured the axles on my 1958 Case 801B with a micrometer. They measured 3.00 in diameter. Also, I measured my 1955 JD 70D (w/Long Axles) and they measure 3.125

(just one more data point)

Guess I'd better remeasure with something besides a tape and an eyeball!!! I was thinking the 700/800 had 2 7/8, the 730/830 had 3, the 930 had 3 1/8 and the 1030 had 3 3/16. Thanks.

Very few tractors used the 3 1/8 axles. Only Case and a few of the MM midsize tractors.
When I was pulling my 700, I used hubs from a 3020 John Deere and shimmed them with aluminum sheet metal. It worke just fine.
MM hubs have a double keyway, so have to grind out one if they are used

It has some kind of 8-hole clamp-on hubs on it now. I'm thinking of getting some weld-ons made for it. Can't decide whether to go 8-hole or 9-hole with the weld-ons.
