I have the tank in SD that Glenn refered to.

My tank has the stamped and welded ends. The tank I have has the large opening for use as a water tank. It then has a stamping that clamps to the large opening with the screw on feul cap in the center of it to convert the tank from water to feul use. The feul cap part number is the same as early (crossmotor) tractors use.

I have been told the tanks were made at the tractor works and fit in the tractor serial numbers. Your number would put your tank in 1919 production.

Tom, The one here has the same ends yours does but the top has a threaded bung welded into the top of the tank and the cap screws right into it. I realy apreciate your input. Maybe I can find out a little history on this one. It came from the northwest corner of Kansas Just right on the Nebraska line. Thanks, Talk to you later.
