We had a Case 3pt (eagle hitch), 3 bottom plow built in about '53 or '54. It was the one with the break away on the hitch portion so if you hit a rock stump, etc. the complete hitch would release the whole plow, not individual bottoms tripping. What is the model? In a couple of years I will be looking for one and want to know what I am looking asking for.

Hi. Thanks Bill for the picture. I had it in my mind that it was a BER, but I didn't want to say untill I was sure. That is the same plow as my BE except for the two things. That big turnbuckle from the top of the center link mount down to the frame is made different. It is four flat irons sandwiched together. Two of the irons are turned 90 deg. at one end with a hole in the end to mount a hydralic cylinder on. You can set up those flat irons two different ways. One way turns the ends down and locks it ridgid and you adjust depth with the center link. The other way turns the ends up and lengthens it and you mount the cylinder on it to adjust depth on the go. What you said about the points is what I was trying to say. The EX bottoms don't have those points. I did find a picture of a BE two bottom in the implement photos section on page three or four. There is a newer version of the BE. It is the same but the square hitch bar that moves back and forth in the slot has a big roller on the end instead of friction slide. I have seen one of those. Hope this helps. Good luck. Charley.

Hi JGarner. There was two models of that plow I think you are talking about. There was one for the SC and DC, but I can't tell you the model off hand. I will have to look it up. I have a book that shows all of the equipment for SC and DC. The second model I know very well what it is. It is a BE,I have one, 3x14. I had it for years before I took it to the Waukee show and a man told me what the model was. I now have a Case book that shows all the equipment for the 300 and 400 tractors. The BE plow came out with those tractors. They are almost the same plow. They have the heavy I beam shaped plow beams and that breakaway hitch you are talking about. They look like the B and BH pull plows. My plow is the same one that is shown in the Case litterature on the 300 tractor. That is what I bought mine for. The earlier plow has the CX bottoms with the long point on the lay, you sharpen those. The BE has the EX bottoms with the straight edge on the lay, no point, throw away lays. There is a little defference in the hitch mast, that is one way I can tell them apart. There is no serial plate on those plows, I just had to learn what they are and it has taken years to do it. They also have a steel furrow wheel and the are a heavy plow. That plow was also made in four bottom. If you need to know more, just ask and I will try. Hope this helps. Charley.

I have the plow my Grandfather bought new with his case 311 in 1957. It is a 3 pt with the break away feature. My manual calls it a M24 (M)ounted (2) bottom (4) 14"
