I was looking at some old eqt the other day and saw what at first glance seemed to be an old one way on steel wheels. Upon further inspection it is a 4 bottom plow on what looks like a one way frame. It appears to sure be factory. There are part #"s all over it, but no factory markings. The part #"s all start with a W. W189, W227 etc. Does anyone know what brand of implement parts started with a W? Thanks-Bob

Emerson made a tractor plow with very short beams from the plow frame to the moboards. I had made a copy of a catalog that showed these plows at one time but I could not find it now. The catalog showed that you could interchange moboard and disc plows on the same main frame.

There is a plow like this at the Pioneer Auto Museum in Murdo SD

The Letter W was Orginally designated for the Woodbury-Dingee Horsepower, the letter W would have ended and the numbers were before ie: 227W,
Yours are the opposite (W227) this is not a complete answer but I believe this is either a series 102 engine plow or a foot lift version as I can only go by what you have posted as far as information, since the numbers are so low this may either be a true Emerson Brantingham plow or at the time of the change over (1928) as the parts listed actually go back to 1908 so it is hard to tell what you actually have, if you have access to 150 years of J.I. Case book there is a picture there that may help, you will need to look under Emerson

Does it have plow shares or huge disk blades for bottoms? Typically a one way has all the blades on one shaft or in a gang or set of gangs where as a disk plow has each blade on its own beam and bearing.

The plow is not a converted oneway or disc plow. It does however have a frame that looks similar to a one way. The adjusting handles are at 90 degree angles like some of the oneways. Plus the steel wheels are kind of cast with holes in them like the early one ways. The plow beams are factory, plus the coulters have two different holes to be set in. One about 6" ahead of the other one. It's a 4 bottom. I know it's hard to imagine, but I'll try to get pictures. I was hoping someone would know the brand by the part #'s. Thanks for your help - Bob
