Does anyone know how much of the weight of a 'D' is on the front wheels?

The tractor is in the 5000-6000 lb range, can I expect 20% of this to be on the front tires?

Thanks for the help.

I would bet good money that a D has almost 50% of its weight on the front tires unless the rear tires are loaded with solution. The cast iron grille and radiator sit out in front of the front axle and balance out the hydraulic/PTO housing. Don

I would agree with you Don. I haven't hauled D's too much, but I occasionally haul my C and it makes no difference on how the trailer pulls whether I load it forwards or backwards as long as whichever end is closest to the back of the trailer is centered between the trailer axles.

Thanks for the replies.

Mine had loaded tires, so I can't tell what a normal one would do.
