I either need the pump or for someone to rebuild the one I already have. It's a model 831C, serial # is 8239051.

Hi Walter: I do"nt know the condition of your pump;but if the pump gears and bearings are good there is probably some scoring on the housing ends from the pump gears. I rebuilt our pump on an early 830 many years ago.I took out the gears and had the housing resurfaced down to the point of just having enough clearance to let the gears turn without dragging. You"ll be amazed at how much pressure you could be losing at the ends of these gears. When i reinstalled it on the tractor all i had to do was set up the relief valve to the correct pressure. I got this tip from my local Case dealer at the time...he saved me a bundle. My gears looked like new and they wanted $300.00 for a set of new gears which he said would"nt really help much at all due to the scoring in the housing.

Thanks so much for the reply. I haven't had this tractor very long and I'm not the most mechanically inclined person that ever lived by any stretch. But I've learned that the pump on my Eagle hitch tractor is different from one on a Case-O-Matic. I have not yet removed the pump. I was waiting on another one before I took it off. I don't understand the need for getting the housing resurfaced as you alluded to. What causes the housing surface to go bad? And by the way, I really don't like the eagle hitch. I wish it was just a plain class 1 or 2. Thanks again.

Try www.hoober.com, if their web site is correct, a reman. hydraulic pump for an 830 from them is $236.86 + $40 refundable core charge.

Thanks but I already contacted them and they said they only have a pump for a Case-O-Matic. Mine's an eagle hitch. They said it won't fit.

Just rebuilt a late 730 eagle hitch. Re-used gears, replaced needle brgs. Center section was badly worn and cost $500.00. Make sure suction\inlet screen is clean as they are usually plugged with sludge.

We've been able to resurface and machine both gears and body to rebuild them here in Cambodia. I realize that out time and labor charges are less that in the US, but we haven't found one yet that we can't make work and have been successful at converting & exchanging the chain drive & gear drive pumps. They really are not that different. If you're going to throw that pump away, I'll pay you to ship it to me.

A pump from any chain drive will not work. By the serial number, I think you have an Eagle Hitch 830. Case doesn't offer much for that pump anymore. A real good solution would be for a shop to rebore the housing & install larger gears. I haven't found anyone to do it yet.

A rebuilt one from Case was about $300 a few years ago.

Will a single spool pump off a SC fit?

A hydraulic pump off a chain drive tractor will NOT work on a gear drive tractor. They turn the opposite direction. One has right hand thread on the drive gear, and the other has left hand drive threads. They look exactly the same, but the drives will simply turn off and not pump if you try to interchange them.

the pump on our 930 was not worth rebuilding. The bushing were worn, letting the gears grind the body. We got a rebuilt pump from CaseIH.

Hey Walter: These guys are referring to the pumps on their Comfort King tractors which is a different pump than yours.
