Well I went ahead and traded my Ford 2000 for a 411B. I just hope I did the right thing. I had a line on a 611B but I figured I didn't need a tractor quite that big. So do you fellas feel I made a good choice? I had to pony up $450 and my little Ford. I am going to get it Thursday morning. Let me know fellas...

The Ford 2000 is certainly one of Ford's better tractors. Do you know how to operate a Case-o-matic transmission? I understand that they are great once you figure them out. I have a Case 311 that cranks right up, even in cold weather.

Congratulations you have moved up to a real tractor from a gentleman farmer's toy.

When I was a kid one of our neighbors and my Dad were discussing the little 861D Ford we had. The nieghbor said using a Ford is like "sending a boy out to do a man's work", I have remembered that statement for over 40 years, and I belive now more than ever that he was right. Having made that statement, I can say this boy did a man's work as a family farm hand for many years!!

The Ford was good as a hay mowing and racking tractor, but not a farming tractor.

I'm sure you'll like it. I have a 310b and the colder it gets, the quicker it starts! I've never seen a machine so quick to fire up. I've been on a few Fords, and while there's nothing wrong with them,I think you made an upgrade....
