Hello! i have a case 930 comfort king i am restoring. the local case dealer said that case no longer made flambau red, that they recommend david brown orange. what else is there? i can get it painted locally for 2500 using acryllic paint, or about 1500 using plain enamel. is the extra moneyworth it? it won't set out any after resto. enamel would last a long time kept inside if a good painter did it wouldn't it? all help is appreciated.

$1500 to $2500 for a paint job? Wow !!! You must be restoring to show-winning potential... not for field work. Most of the paint will end-up on cast iron that gets pretty hot, not sheet metal like a car/truck. Enamal is certainly good enough for this farmer. TSC (Tractor Supply) sells Flambeau Red at our local store. Spray cans, gallons or quarts.

John Saeli has the real Case Flambeau Red paint. It seems we have this discussion on the forum every two months or so. Walt Davies went to the trouble of getting the Case #s. It seem the bone-heads at CASE have two "Power Reds", one for the newer 'white hood' models and one is flambeau. Walt's numbers, for the flambeau, are:

Quart size. (B17671LF) Spray Can. (B17670N) Gallon size. (B17670N)

You can porbably paint your whole tractor for $150 and, add some hardner if you want a longer lasting finish. The Case paint does not faid as fast as the "El Cheapo" stuff from Farm and Fleet, costs 10% of what automotive paint does, goes on well, and in my opinion, looks just as good. LOL!

Are you sure about your numbers here?
The Spray Can and Gallon size you posted have the same part number. Just wondering.
