If you guys haven't been to the combine forum lately, they've gone nuts over there with combine pictures.
Be sure to check out the restored Case SP-12 with a bagging platform. Excellent!

I have a model 150 we bought used but freshly repainted in 1961. we used it for many years, and it has always be barn stored. The neat thing about it is the model 400 engine drives a vac diff and tranny with one of the variable speed sheaves on the vac pto. They just left 3 forwards and reverse in the vac tranny. The 400 engine with 5 mains has to be one of the smoothest running CASE ever built.

Hey 1660: How about a 1665 to go along with that 1660?

If I had shed space I'd drag them home like stray dogs. "momma, can I keep him", "I promise I'll take care of him and keep him clean and grease him every day during harvest"..."pleeeease".

John, if it weren't so far away I'd be interested; but New York is a long way from Montana. I know of about a half dozen 1660's sitting around the countryside out here, 1 1060 and, 1 1000, and 3 or 4 1010's. Dan Tombrink over at Columbia Falls just advertised a 600.

Montana is quite a hike away. I did see a combine hauler this Summer who hauled a 1480 & both heads on 1 load. Had his trailer specially set up. I got the 1665, 14' Grain & 306 6 Row corn head plus bushels of parts & belts. $1,000 takes it all.

John, Now your just trying to make me cry.
I'm in the same boat as Tom. If I remember right, your in New York which may as well be across the Atlantic for me. I always wondered how come none of my neighbors down the road ever have any good old iron. Seems like the stuff I'd like to have is always four or five states away. Sniff.

Another view of the SP-12.We need to start saving some of these while we still have a chance.More and more old combines are being junked everyday.

Thanks for the pictures! My dad bought an SP-12 new in 1951. I learned how to cuss listening to him try to un-slug the cylinder. The spike tooth machines were much better than the rub bar.
