My brother Stuart and I bought a Case 630. I was telling a friend about it and he said if I needed any parts he has one by his building at home. He sold the radiator, carb, rear tires, and one front wheel. Friday I went to take a look. It was a narrow front gas 630. The sheet metal is good. It had spinout rear wheels, power steering and was duel range. It has its gauges which are different than our 630 gauges. It is missing one fender and the other is broke where it mounts to the axle housing. The engine has a nice hole in it where it threw a rod. I would like to buy the whole tractor if it is cheep but that may depend if I can find an engine block? How hard are they to find? If I don"t buy it what parts should I buy? What is hard to find on a 630? Our wide front doesn"t have power steering. Will the parts on the narrow front work on the wide front? Our front has the adjustible axle not the standard alxe. What do you all think? If it can be bought cheep can it be brought back to life? 630"s are hard to find in West Kentucky. You go to a tractor show and all you see is Farmall red or JD green. I would love to restore this tractor to bring to the tractor shows.

Hi Michael, I have a Case 630 gas, triple range, wfe, eagle hitch. The gas engine is a 188 ci. The diesel in the 630 is also a 188 ci. My 630 threw a rod a few years ago. I posted on here that I was looking for a 188 gas engine and had several replies. I got a really good complete engine that is still running fine. The 600 and 660 combine engines gas engines are also 188 and are interchangable. The engine I got was originally in a combine. I had to use my old valve cover and adapt the top radiator hose. I think there is a 201 gas engine that uses the same block. Post on this site and you may fine all the parts you need.
Phil

I'll see how much the owner wants. I would like to buy it. I have room for it but it will take a few years to restore. It would go great with Stuarts and my other 630. Ours is diesel and this one is gas. Ours is adjustible wide front and this one is narrow front. I'll take a picture of it and post. Too bad it has a hole in the block where it threw a rod. I think 630's are probably the rarest of the 30 series Case. If you can afford it and room is not a problem then I would say at least get it and you can decide over time. If it doesn't work for you then you can get rid of it.

The engine from a 600 or 660 combine will probably fit. Try priceing some parts from a salvage yard. That might convince you to have a parts tractor.

The owner wants 400 bucks for it so Stuart and I are going to buy it. We also bought a 630 in MO. Now we have 3 630s, 2 we will restore and keep this one for parts since its serial number tag is gone and it is rough but has over 400 bucks in parts in it. I"m looking for a crank for the 630 we bought in MO. It is 188 diesel. Anyone have a spare?
