Howdy, our rural New Mexico road association is considering the purchase of a Case 830 Diesel unit to help out with rural dirt road maintenance. The unit is complete, however, it has some play in the steering column which I would like to fix. The steering bushing part number is A21367, and it takes two of them. I am having a tough time finding out if they are still available. Thank you.

Thanks for the info. I am pretty ignorant when it comes to tractors, but some of that ignorance is balanced out by my persistence. I am seeing a lot of reference to NAPA for parts..am I to understand that NAPA is a good source?

Also, the amount of play in the steering column leads me to believe the uppermost bushing is either totally shot, or completely gone. It seems there was around 3/4 inch of play, or so.

We don"t have a Case dealer in the Farmington, New Mexico area, thus I am having to do a lot of long distance to find out stuff about this model tractor. If we buy it, we will be moving it down south of here, only about 100 miles out of Albuquerque, and there is a Case dealer there.

Where did the $42.00 bushings come from? And I am curious about the plastic ones as well...are they just as durable, in your opinion? And where do they come from?

Thanks again..

Keep [n mind the bushings you talk about are rubber mounted an are to have some play- at least the top one. Also if steering seems to bind asyou turn some or all u joints need re packed with grease. There are 4 on tractor with one hid under radiator hose on left side. Thatjoint has needle bearings an can be replaced if bad -from case or napa -other joints are plain an just need grease or just squirt penetrating on them for quick fix. bEST TRACTOR EVER MADE IN THOSE DAYs!!!!
