Block Heater?

I have a Case 630 Deisel. It gets cold up here in the winter and I'd like to use the blade to plow my driveway. Problem is, I can rarely get it started when its cold outside. It turns over, but wont catch. I keep it in a garage that does have many drafts. The glowplugs click, but dont seem to help. I dont see where a block heater would have been if it existed before I got the tractor.

Does anyone have a good idea as to how I can keep the engine warm enoug to start on these cold days? I hate using Tractor Ether!

thanks

Blockheaters are available for the 630, & it would thread into the block on the left - rear. 2 premium 12 Volt batteries hooked in parallal are a must in cold weather.

There's the same problem on the tractor talk forum, 11-7 under "engine heating", with replies that might help. Good luck.

Hi what about a circulating block heater its gets mine very warm where i hardly have to choke it. Also they make those magnets that stick to the side of anything and plug it in it gives of a slow heat but stick that to the oil pan and over night it will keep your oil nice and runny they are very inexpensive Plus 2 batteries is also a good idea My 2 cents PS i live in canada -45c is very common :>)
