I have a 310 Industrial that has been sitting outside in a lot for a few years. It seems that the clutch will not release. The pedal mechanism works O.K. I figure either the disc is frozen to the flywheel or the spline is cruddy. Any suggestions on how to break it loose or do I have to split her in half.
Thanks,
Bill

You might as well forget about all those methods you hear about breaking a clutch loose and just split it. I have a 310 I bought with a stuck clutch, tried everything and finally had to split it which I should have done in the first place. It has double clutch plates and everything was rusted together so tight, it took me forever to get the tractor apart even after all the bolts were removed. what a rusty mess it was. Clean it up and put everthing back in new and you will be better off. Even if you break it loose without splitting it, it will probably not work exactly as it should without putting in new parts.

My 300 MF combine is doing the same thing , I am about to ,,Fill the durn clutch pack full of oil ,That ought to break it lose ,,DONT try it !!, That will contaminate the clutch and create slippage ,and then ,! You may end up going baCK IN THERE to TRACTOR SPLIT ,Seriously ,,You should have a HAND clutch ,><,RIGHT ? Spray Brake Parts Cleaner on The Dry clutch mechanism ,,Then Drive it around the farm with a block of wood under the clutch pedal doing menial jobs till it breaks loose,Thats how I used to do a GASSER 3010 JD,that hung out here for a while ,,Great Shop tRACTOR ,aLWAYS in there needing work done to it
