Is my case 540 12 and negative ground?
Also there is two shifters (one on the left and one on the right) the left goes either forward or back and the right one has three notches.
I'm trying to get this thing started and back to work, it came with the land and has been sitting under cover for years. I'mk not even sure its a 540, can send pics if needed.
Any help would be appreciated. Jim

The early 530 series was positive ground and later models negative..... The easiest way is to look at the ignition coil, see what side is connected to the distributor... (although this is not foolproof (send me some photos and I will see if I can help out

The negative side of the coil is connected to the distributor.
