I usually buy mine at automotive electric shops. They should be able to match a regulator to your generator, if it has an Autolite model number on it.

I've had decent luck with our local NAPA (IN). Have you tried a farm shop like Littleton's in Laurel, DE? This web site may (may not?) help Link

We bought a couple things from them. We kinda new them so we knew who we were dealing with. We usually would buy the hole unit when looking for used parts as it wasn't much more $. Its been 12 years since we've moved from Laurel so haven't delt with them lately. They have (used to) a little bit of everything, new and/or used. I'd be surprised if they didn't have a new one. Tull's in Seaford (assume they're still there was the IH turned CaseIH dealer. You may also want to do an internet search for a solid state voltage regulator. I presume they make a 6 volt. They are less prone to problems. I've seen them but can't remember the web page. Next time I need one (12V) that's probably the way I'll go. What part of DE are you in? We might stop out that way around Christmas for a visit.
